The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) seeks to appoint a Board-certified/Board-eligible Neonatologist to the Assistant or Associate Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical series. This will be a full-time position in the Infant Care Center at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). The candidate will provide neonatal clinical service in a community level III nursery at the ZSFG, a University-affiliated public teaching hospital. The position is expected to begin on July 1, 2017.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Division of Pediatrics at the ZSFG, a group of 30 faculty members that is dedicated to exceptional patient care, scholarship, and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with outstanding clinical skills, experience, and interest in working with urban, underserved patients, experience with multidisciplinary teamwork, and a commitment to academic medicine.
Clinical duties include attending in the intensive care nursery at the ZSFG and possibly at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Non-clinical activities include teaching and mentoring UCSF medical students, residents in Family and Community Medicine and Pediatrics, chief residents in Pediatrics as well as program development, involvement in quality improvement projects, service on medical staff and university committees, and other academic activities.
• Medical degree and license
• BC/BE in Neonatology
• NRP certification
• Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese)
• Experience working with urban, underserved patients
• Skills in medical education
• Experience in Continuous Quality Improvement or clinical/translational research
