Vassar Brothers Medical Center - Poughkeepsie, NY (365-bed hospital,15-bed Level III NICU) - Vassar has the only Level III NICU between Albany and Westchester, equipped to handle all babies 23 weeks and up, caring for all medical complications except cardiology and advanced pediatric surgery.
Northern Dutchess Hospital - Rhinebeck, NY (68-bed hospital, Level I nursery)
-24 hour shifts
-Close collaboration with neonatologists

-All mid-levels have the opportunity to rotate through three hospitals to cross-train and maintain skills
The ideal candidate is Master's prepared with at least 2 years of neonatal/newborn experience as a neonatal, pediatric or family medicine nurse practitioner. Candidate should have prior work experience in a NICU / Level III nursery setting. Most common diagnoses are prematurity, respiratory distress, sepsis evaluation, hypoglycemia. For the Northern Sector at Northern Dutchess Hospital, the provider will work in the newborn nursery, assist in deliveries, and perform consults.
